| | Model of the car: | Mitsubishi Diamante | | | General comments: | I have owned Toyota, Nissan, and now a Mitsubihsi, and by far, this is this WORST Japanese vehicle of the bunch. Will not hold a candle to either Toyota or Nissan. I purhased the car with 67K miles and now have 118K. Would not recommend car to anyone! Pass them up no matter how good the looks or low the price. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Everything Mechanical including engine. As other Diamante owner, I too have to frequently replace brake pads. CV joints webt out at 80K miles and struts went out at 90K miles. ADMITTEDLY BY MITSUBISHI ENGINES DESIGNED WITH POOR INTAKE GUIDE SEAL. CAR BURN ABOUT 1 QT OF OIL EVERY 250 MILES. WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER A STOPPED FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIME, CAR BLOWS SMOKE LIKE A MOSQUITO FOGGER. MITSUBISHI ADMITTED PROBLEM BUT FAILED TO ADDRESS! The latest problem recently is car will not idle at stop. Car engine continually stop will at idle stop speed. Have read that Mitsubish had problems with idler motor system. If you are intent on purchasing a used Mitsubishi Diamante, I will gladly sell you mine. In addtion, if you buy any new Mitsubishi automobile, you have nobdy to blame but yourself after reviwing all the bad reviews!! | | | Previous car: | Toyota Camry and Nissan Maxima |
