| | Model of the car: | Diamante ES | | | General comments: | I purchased this car almost a year ago, It had 118K miles on it. The car was not taken care by the previous owner. The car is a good car overall. The SOHC V6 performs well, despite the vehicles weight, I got the car to go 131 mph easily. This is a good entry level luxury car. The style gets lots of looks. I removed my fake wood panels and painted them all silver to give it a more sporty look, I also added new 2003 Eclipse GTS 17" wheels and V-rated tires that I got for $500. Now the car has got 147K miles on it and it still runs like new. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | BRAKES, BRAKES, BRAKES !! I have had this car for about 30K miles and I have put on 3 sets of pads and 1 set of rotors. I also noticed that I was burning huge amounts of oil. I have seen other Diamantes have the same prob. All it is, is just VALVE STEM SEALS. I had those replaced and now the car burns a lot less oil. I took the car to my local Mitsu dealer they wanted to charge $1350 dollars. So I found out that the 92-98 Hyundai Sonata uses the Mitsu SOHC 3.0V6. They charged me $700 for the same service as Mitsu. The Diamante overall is a good solid heavy car, but they can have costly repairs. | | | Previous car: | 95 Maxima SE
