Diamante Diamante
| | Model of the car: | Diamante Diamante | | | General comments: | HERE IT GOES - BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!!! Period. I had an 1993 for a couple years, at the same time I owned a 3000GT as well, and drove the Diamante much more than the 3000GT... Now I just got a good deal on 97 Diamante, the new body style, with about 50K miles, and it's been the best purchase I've ever made on a car. They have made it tons better than the older style, bigger engine 3.5 vs 3.0, much lighter then the old one, believe it or not, much better handling and suspension, basically everything that needed improvement has been improved!!! Highly recommend testing it out, even if you use to have an older model and didn't like it much. I loved my 93, drove like on rails at speeds in excess of 120mph, the only other car I know besides my BMW 750IL that is that stable and smooth at over 120mph, however, it used to have a lot of body roll on twisties, as well as not enough pick up power from stop... Well, the new redesigned 97 and up Diamante has been improved in every one of these ways, much quicker, much lighter, more leg room in the back, bigger trunk space, stiffer suspension that still feels very smooth, better A | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Pretty much none so far, I've owned two and have put over 100K miles on my first one, and about 20K on my second one. Brake pads make noise, that's about it... And the newer one doesn't have stereo controls on steering, and not as good stereo as the old one, but those are minor details | | | Previous car: | VW Jetta 98, BMW 750IL, Olds Aurora, Acura 3.2TL, Accord, Camry, Maxima, Lexus IS300, ES300 and LS 400, Toyota Avalon, Mazda 626 and 929, Mitsu 3000GT, Benz E320, Pretty much anything you can think of |
